Is this plus size?
Once upon a time I got excited about the state of the representation of curves in hollywood and mainstream media, and I did a post a while back on how thin the ladies whose rolls we once looked up to have gotten. I am continually surprised when I see our favorite celebs and models represented on plus size sites and they look like this:
Really is this even Tocarra? I hate these images because it makes me forget that I am shopping on a plus size site. I ask my self do thick thighs mean you are plus or becasue you have hips means you are a 14+? If that is the case and we want to use models like Tocarra who are obviously much smaller than when she came on to the scene, than we should be calling the Kardashians plus size too cause obviously thigh and booty make you a plus size. I know this is a total rant and my personal one at that, but give me muffin tops, inner tubes, cellulite, back fat, and arm jiggle any day at least I know they want to market it to me. I’m gonna post a picture of me in my swim suit so I can continually remind the world what a 22/24 looks like. This post is no disrespect to Evans from which this photo came because I adore everything Evans has and brings to the tabel for the curvy ladies but I am always shocked to see how these models change from point of discovery to “making it”. That is why I love looking ath the Evans blog and other retailers that I love to see the bloggers who post pics in the clothing and so on, I love seeing the real live shoppers and how things fit, and I must say that Evans always gets two thumbs up in my book.
